The foundations founders
Mikaela Lindström & Elina Bergström
Experiences from our first trip to Ghana in 2008 are the basis for why we started the foundation Make a Difference. Because that's exactly what we want to do. We want to and we know that together we can make a big difference for many.
Our valuable board
Being able to experience the difference and all the personal encounters with children and families in Ghana is my biggest driver for our work. I look forward to working together to give families a safer future by building and operating the family center in Bobikuma.
The joy and satisfaction it gives to helping children and families in Ghana is my main driver. Our "small" project to build a family center in Ghana is also a wonderful challenge that I cannot refuse. The day we inaugurate the home on site in Bobikuma will be one of the best in my life.
I hope to make a little difference for the children in Ghana by contributing as much as possible with knowledge and enthusiasm.
I work with project management in construction. When I'm not sailing, exercising or finding any other fun out there in Mother Nature, I help Make a Difference in Project Management Buildings of the Bobikuma Family Center. I contacted the project when I felt that I wanted to help with an international context with my knowledge. Through Engineers Without Borders, I found the job at Make a Difference
The Make a Difference Foundation works on issues that engage me; the right of children and families to a future. Alongside the foundation, I can help to make a difference for many children and families in their realities. With communication, I help the foundation convey why and how they choose to work on making long-term difference for children and families in Ghana.
It didn't take long to decide when the Foundation asked if I wanted to help create and maintain the website. Nowadays, I help the Make a Difference Foundation to create, maintain and create materials for the website. I am happy to be able to help make a difference in such a way.
I believe that everyone can make a difference, big or small. All children should be entitled to a safe and loving upbringing and that is exactly what the Make a Difference Foundation works for.
On my spare time outside of my studies I help the Make a Difference foundation to find partners and creative ways to enable a stable, sustainable and effective way to increase funding for the projects.
Make a Difference is the perfect way for me to be able to apply my professional skills as an engineer to help vulnerable people outside Sweden. The foundation is small and efficient which makes the team extra personal. I found Make a Difference through Engineers Without Borders and I am grateful to be able to help make a difference.
